As a native of Michigan, I spent my youth at Point Lookout, a summer resort on the shores of Saginaw Bay, which is located in Lake Huron. I attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Illustration. I then completed my Master of Arts degree in Printmaking at Wayne State University in Detroit.
I worked in the advertising business in Detroit for twenty-five years as a product illustrator. My clients included General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Mercedes Benz and NASA, as well as many others. In 1982, during my career as an illustrator, I joined the faculty of the College for Creative Studies as an Associate Professor where I taught drawing and rendering skills in the Department of Illustration.
I am currently a member of the Scarab Club in Detroit, Michigan and Oil Painters of America. Past memberships include the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) in New York, the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA), the Boston Printmakers, the International Mezzotint Society, and the United States Coast Guard Art Program.
I exhibit in local, national, and international exhibitions and am represented in the permanent collection of the United States Coast Guard. Currently I reside in Ortonville, Michigan where I continue to pursue my creative interests.
